Draft Policy for the Recognition of South African Higher Education Institutional Types, 2022
The Minister of Higher Education Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, has published a call for public comment on the Draft Policy for the Recognition of South African Higher Education Institutional Types in the Government Gazette No. 47205, Notice 2359 of Monday, 8 August 2022. The development of the policy follows an extensive research and consultative process carried out by the Department which began in late 2018 and culminated in the publication of the draft policy.

WorldSkills South Africa to finalise the skills which did not make part of the recent National Competition in Kwazulu-Natal
WorldSkills South Africa hosted its National Competition in the month of June 2022 at the Durban International Convention Centre, KWazulu-Natal. The four-day long national competition afforded students from universities of technology, different employers and colleges across the country an opportunity to wrestle it out in different skills categories for the number one spot that would secure them an opportunity to participate at the international competition later this year.

The Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Dr Blade Nzimande, passes his condolences to the families, friends, colleagues and fellow students of the Ikhala TVET College on the passing of five (5) staff members (three staff members and 2 interns) who were involved in a car crash, that happened yesterday, the 27th July 2022.
